Badly Needed Incubators for Liberian Hospitals Arrive-JNB Foundation

At least 31 pieces of incubators-each at the cost of U.S. $16,000. 00, have arrived in Liberia, and set  for distribution among major hospitals in the country. The equipment, secured by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s own foundation, would help curtail increasing infant mortality in this West African nation. They were shipped directly from Dubai, although its origin is actually China. The foundation’s chairman Rev. David Fartoma, together with the president’s contact person (who had arranged shipment of the goods) stood at the compound, giving instructions regarding where and how staffers should pack them. On Friday, Oct. 11, as staffers at the JNB Foundation scrambled to off-load those incubators at the their Rehab Center in Paynesville, hints came in that H.E. Pres. Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. would soon arrive and inspect the goods and within moments, undercovered securities were on the ground and a quick protocol put in place. However, the expected visit was later called-off. Text & Photos by James Kokulo Fasuekoi
