JNB Foundation helping partners help Liberia; donates farm products to UCOW in Kakata

Rev. Johnson M. D. Sumo Sr. is CEO and Founder for UCOW-Liberia, based in Kakata, Margibi, outside Monrovia. “UCOW” is the acronym for the United Churches of the World, founded many years ago and operated by Rev. Sumo and Bishop Philip Nelson of Careysburg, Montserrado County. UCOW now runs numerous social services that help remove vulnerable youths from the streets and also assist single moms and girls living within Kakata community with vocational training like tailoring, culinary arts and tie & dye. In one instance last year UCOW’s Kakata City’s vocational center graduated up to 350 students, certificating all in the above, plus many other disciplines. UCOW is a strong partner and supporter of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and his JNB Foundation: their friendship and partnership started far back when President Boakai was still Liberia’s Vice President. Thanks to a farsighted leader, President Joseph Boakai. UCOW, meanwhile, has begun engaging farmers in the Margibi region and for that reason Rev. Sumo, having previously requested the president’s charity to help Margibi farmers with the new brand ROKO Fertilizer was invited by JNB Foundation Hon. Jackson George Jr. to pick up a considerable size of the product Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, for his UCOW organization for onward distribution to local farmers there. In the attached photos, Hon. Jackson George Jr. (L) make a presentation to Rev. Johnson M.D. Sumo Sr. The gift of ROKO products can be seen in middle and also at back of a vehicle; writes James Kokulo Fasuekoi
